I’s win 4 straight

The Kannapolis Intimidators kept on winning Friday night and the Greenville Drive kept losing.

Four Kannapolis pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout as the I’s beat Greensville 6-0 to sweep the four-game series at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

While Kannapolis (15-19) won its fourth straight, Greensville lost its ninth in a row.

Faustino De Los Santos allowed two hits over six innings to get his second win of the season. He struck out eight and walked none.

The I’s broke a scoreless game with four runs in the fourth inning.

Matt Sharp had an RBI single, Michael Grace doubled home two runs and Scott Madsen added an RBI double. Chris Carter made it 5-0 with an RBI double in the fifth and Anderson Gomes doubled home Carter in the seventh to cap the scoring.

Kannapolis finished with seven hits in the game, led by Grace with two. The I’s were also helped by seven Greenville walks.

Kannapolis begin a four-game series at Savannah today before returning home Wednesday.
