The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office received a call concerning a bank robbery at the State Employee’s Credit Union, at 5555 N.C. 49, Harrisburg, Tuesday, according to Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deputy Eric Sossoman.
The robbery suspect wore a black ski mask and fired a single shot into the ceiling as he entered the bank, Sossoman said.
A witness was outside the State Employee’s Credit Union and followed the suspect as he attempted to flee in his vehicle, and called the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office to notify deputies of the suspect’s location and direction of travel.
Deputies then responded to the caller’s location on N.C. 49 near Harrisburg and found the suspect, Sossoman said. Deputies arrested the suspect.
The bank robbery suspect was later identified as Daryl Marcus Allison, 22, of Charlotte. Sossoman said.
Allison was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon, Sossoman said.
He was placed in the Cabarrus County Jail on a $500,000 secured bond, Sossoman said.
