Poll question change

We decided this morning to remove the poll question regarding U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry’s reference to a foreign contractor in Iraq as a “two-bit security guard.”
One option as an answer to the question of what readers thought of the issue stated McHenry should apologize for the comment.
In our Wednesday article, McHenry said he regrets the “poor choice of words” to describe the contractor. Whether that is an apology - or a near apology - can be debated. Instead of splitting hairs, we decided to make a replacement.
Readers are welcome to post responses to Wednesday’s article. This story certainly appears to have generated a lot of attention.

Lance Sigmon will provide our Congressional District with solid conservative values. He will do this without the pompous arrogrance continually exhibited by McHenry. We made a serious mistake in electing McHenry to congress...it is time to rectify the previous error.

If McHenry were in the military I suspect he would be court martialed for his video posting of secure areas in Iraq. Is he totally absent of any common sense?

I think that removing that poll was an embarrassment, considering the fact that it was a 95% to 5% margin in the “apology” favor. It is clear from that poll that the people of the 10th are still not satisfied- no matter what you may think it is “debatable”, 95% is one hell of a lot greater than 5%.

With this new news of McHenry’s video (now removed) possibly being responsible for the death of three soldiers, I think the new poll should be how many are ashamed to have him as their Congressman.

The remark about the “two-bit security guard” was bad enough from a man who has no problem sending his classmates to die in a war that was based on 935 lies.

The worst part was telling the insurgents over the internet exactly how effective their rocket attack had been so it could be more effective the next time, which it was, and now three brave American soldiers are dead.

Apology?  That doesn’t begin to describe what McHenry needs to do.  If the man had an ounce of honor he would resign immediately over his self-glorifying recklessness and its disastrous consequences.

Mr. McHenry is more concerned with photo ops and taking credit for grants he had nothing to do with than he is representing the 10th. Congressional District.  Perhaps if he spent more time visiting the people in his district and really trying to help them he would become something other than the total embarassment most of his constituents consider him to be.
