Obama “Economic Forum” slated for Tuesday
Tax Day: Obama Campaign To Hold “Charlotte Economic Forum” on Tuesday
Campaign to host statewide forum to bring North Carolinians together to learn about Obama’s plan for the economy
Raleigh, NC – Barack Obama’s North Carolina campaign will hold a “North Carolina Economic Forum” on Tuesday, April 15 at house parties and meetings across the state to bring North Carolinians together to learn about Obama’s plan for the economy and discuss his ideas with their friends and neighbors.
The campaign is encouraging undecided voters to attend the forums.
“As we talk to voters door to door, we find that a large number are still undecided – and for most folks, the top concern is the economy,” said North Carolina State Director Craig Schirmer. “These forums will give undecided voters the opportunity to learn exactly what Senator Obama will do to turn around the economy so they can judge for themselves. We’re confident that when people get to know Senator Obama’s agenda they’ll see he has what it takes to bring the change America needs.”
Attendees of these events will be able to read a copy of Senator Obama’s plan, discuss it with their neighbors, and listen to a briefing via conference call from one of Senator Obama’s senior economic advisors about the plan and how it affects North Carolina.
The event is being held on Tax Day to highlight Obama’s commitment tax fairness for the middle class and his detailed plans to invest in the middle class and make real change happen.
On Friday, the campaign announced Obama’s economic blueprint for North Carolina – a detailed 47-page book detailing his plan to turn the economy around and invest in the middle class. The book is also available online at: http://nc.barackobama.com.
Tuesday, April 15
All events begin at 5:30 PM, and the briefing will begin at 6:00 PM. The North Carolina Forums are open to the media. To RSVP, please email Marti Adams at .
