Obama campaign to hold cookout in Hickory

Barack Obama’s Campaign for Change will hold a Carolina “Cookout for Change” today (Saturday) in Hickory.

The event will provide undecided voters with the opportunity to hear more about how Obama’s policies will bring change to all North Carolinians.

The event is one of over 140 Carolina Cookouts for Change happening across the state. The cookouts will encourage neighbor-to-neighbor conversations about the issues that are most important to people in this election, including the economy, energy prices, and healthcare.

“We want to encourage a conversation among North Carolinians of the issues that are at stake in this election,” said Marc Farinella, state director for the Obama campaign.

“So our supporters have invited their neighbors who are both undecided and supportive of Senator Obama to join them for a casual, relaxed afternoon cookout — with a side of politics.”

The cookout is at 2 p.m. at Glenn Hilton Park, 2000 Sixth St., NW.
