North Carolina Democratic Presidential Debate Cancelled

RALEIGH—The North Carolina Democratic Party announced today that it will cancel the proposed Democratic Presidential debate on April 27 due to time constraints and logistical issues associated with such a large, national event.

While there was great interest in the debate, there were also growing concerns about what another debate would do to party unity.

The Party would also like to thank North Carolina State University for their hospitality and willingness to host this debate. Both campaigns have offered North Carolinians additional opportunities to be seen and heard across the state in the coming weeks and months. In addition, Senators Clinton and Obama have committed to attending our Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on Friday, May 2 in Raleigh.

Tickets are still available by signing up online http://www.ncdp.org/.

They don’t need any more debates. it’s useless. The question was asked if continued debates will help you make up your mind on who to vote for on CNN the other day. I voted no and the results at the time said that 88% of the people said the same. Most people have made up their mind by now. Clinton calling for more debates is grasping at straws.

As the old saying goes, ‘some excuse is better than none’.  The truth is North Carolinians will not be granted a debate because Sen. Obama refuses to debate here.  Why?  He knows he will lose any debate with Sen. Clinton.  Instead of coming here for a debate he will go to the NAACP conference in Detroit where the oh so reverand Jeremiah Wright will be ranting...uh speaking.
