More tickets available for Catawba County Democratic gala
The Catawba County Democratic Party has expanded its 2009 Presidential Inaugural Gala to meet demand for the event.
“We were completely sold out and had a waiting list Wednesday at noon,” said Ruth Long, party treasurer. “We had to make a decision with the caterer right then, so we added space to accommodate the waiting list and offer a few more tickets, but those will go fast.”
The gala is Saturday from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Gateway Center at Park Inn.
The package at $35 per person includes a buffet dinner, cash bar, live music, dancing and keynote speaker.
Attendees will also receive a limited edition keepsake button as part of the gala package.
Designed and produced locally, the buttons feature a photograph of Barack Obama, North Carolina and the event date. Only 300 of the buttons will be produced, and each one will be numbered.
