McHenry’s influence grows

McHenry ranked higher in 2005 (152) and 2006 (113), when Republicans held a House majority.

The rankings devised by congressional staff and academic experts and are based on tenure, committee assignments, indirect influence, legislative activity and earmarks, among other criteria.

Other North Carolina politicians include U.S. Reps. Sue Myrick - 9th District, 10th in North Carolina, 306th in House; Robin Hayes - 8th District, 12th in North Carolina, 360th in House: Virginia Foxx - 5th District, 13th in North Carolina, 399th in House.

North Carolina’s two Senators ranked 69th (Richard Burr) and 93rd (Elizabeth Dole).

And the three top presidential candidates were virtually tied in the Senate rankings.

Hillary Clinton ranked ninth, John McCain followed at 10th and Barack Obama finished 11th.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THE AUDACITY AND GALL FOR MCHENRY TO MAKE SUCH A CLAIM.....HE IS THE WORST REP FOR THIS DISTRICT IN MY LIFETIME AND THAT SAYS ALOT WITH SOME FOLKS WHO HELD THE POSITION STILL ALIVE.....I SINCERELY HOPE THAT SIGMON BEATS HIM AND IF NOT, THEN JOHNSON.....THIS DISTRICT DESRVES BETTER THAN REP WHO RECKLESSLY SPENDS OUR MONEY ON MAILINGS AND HAS HIS NOSE UP A PARTY LINE RATHER THAN SPEAKING FOR THE PEOPLE OF THIS DISTRICT.
