Johnson speaks out for stronger national defense.

Daniel Johnson, Democratic candidate for the 10th U.S. House District, will be speaking to Western North Carolina voters about his support for a tougher, smarter and stronger national defense.
Johnson will discuss his plans for restoring military recruitment and retention, finishing the job in Iraq and Afghanistan, and caring for our military men and women.

Here’s his schedule:

• Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1 p.m.:

Delivering goods donated by campaign supporters for care packages for troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, “Zip Code It,” 305 North Sterling St., Morganton.

• Thursday, Aug. 21, 7 p.m.:

Honoring the service of fellow veterans at the Soldiers Reunion parade, downtown Newton.

• Friday, Aug. 22:

Announcing the endorsement of a national non-partisan organization of veterans and military families.

• Saturday, Aug.t 23, noon:

Veterans for Johnson Rally with former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland, American Legion Post 48, 1127 U.S. 70, Newton.
