Hickory: Daniel Johnson, candidate for U.S. Congress from North Carolina’s 10th District, today announced endorsements from all five of the 10th District’s Democratic Sheriffs.

Hickory: Daniel Johnson, candidate for Congress from North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District, today announced that his candidacy has been endorsed by the North Carolina Association of Educators and the National Education Association.
“I am incredibly proud to be endorsed by the North Carolina Association of Educators,” said Johnson, “As the son of a former public schoolteacher and a graduate of the Hickory public schools, I understand how crucial a strong public school system is to the economic revitalization of our District.”
In Congress, Daniel Johnson will work to reform “No Child Left Behind” so that it includes the necessary funding and useful standards struggling schools need to improve. Johnson believes that teachers need to be adequately compensated and that young people need to be recruited, trained and encouraged to pursue education as a career. Johnson will work to promote partnerships between public schools and the business community to find practical solutions that will give the children of the 10th District every possible advantage. In addition, Johnson will fight to make technical schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges affordable for every student that qualifies so that the young people of the 10th District can compete in the global marketplace.
