Former State Representative Mark Hollo Files

“A recent investigation of the Department of Transportation by the State Auditor revealed over $152 million in wasted taxpayer money due to cost overruns and unnecessary delays in construction.  This is on top of over $22 million required to repair faulty construction on I-40 near Durham.  Now we are learning about millions more wasted on I-795 as the newly constructed highway is literally falling apart. The taxpayers of this state cannot afford more of the same from the failed leadership in Raleigh.  We need change.  I want to provide the conservative leadership we need to get results for Alexander and Catawba counties.”

“I am also concerned we are wasting untold millions of state tax dollars on people here illegally.  It’s time for comprehensive reform to insure our tax dollars are spent only for the lawful citizens of our state.  If elected, I will fight any effort to allow in-state tuition rates for illegal aliens at our public universities and community colleges.”

“The liberal leadership in the State House has failed to hold state government accountable to the taxpayers and failed to hold the actions of its members accountable to the public.  I want to be part of a new team of conservative leaders that will end business-as-usual in Raleigh, cut government waste, and focus the people’s hard-earned tax dollars on educating our children, improving health care, building the roads we need and recruiting better paying jobs for our citizens.”
