Catawba County Democrats to have picnic and rally

The Catawba County Democratic Party is combining its annual picnic and annual Century Club event for a rally and picnic on Sept. 14,  4 to 7 p.m. at Von Sigmon’s Farm in Newton.

The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person, payable at the event, or free to those who pledge four hours of volunteer work from now until Election Day.

“In this incredible election season, we want everyone to be able to attend this event,” said party chair Dan Green.
“We’re especially reaching out to unaffiliated and unregistered voters to offer them an opportunity to meet our candidates directly and hear what their plans are for our county, our state and our nation.”

The event will include speeches by candidates or their representatives, a fried chicken dinner and music.

Those attending should bring lawn chairs.

Sigmon’s farm is at 2238 Sigmon Dairy Road. From N.C. 10, turn onto Sigmon Dairy Road, go 1.1 miles and turn left into the drive.

Watch for signs, or call 828-322-5100 for more information.
