HICKORY
Former President Bill Clinton returns to the Hickory area this weekend.
Clinton is making stops, in order, in Marion, Morganton, Lenoir and Hickory, before ending the day in Reidsville as part of his presidential campaign for wife, Hillary. Times and locations of the events have not been released.
Clinton already made one trip to the area this campaign season. He addressed a crowd of more than 1,200 people at the St. Stephens High School gymnasium in late March.
Clinton has crisscrossed North Carolina in recent weeks. On Monday, he will tour nine cities in the eastern part of the state.
Hillary Clinton, 60, is locked in a battle with challenger Barack Obama for the Democratic Party nomination. Obama was in Hickory Tuesday.
She visited Kinston, Henderson, Greensboro and Raleigh on Friday. Today, she will host “Get Out the Vote” events in Wake Forest, Gastonia and Mooresville.
Her daughter, Chelsea, toured the Hickory Furniture Mart a week ago during a short campaign stop here.
