A look at McHenry and Johnson

Daniel Johnson, 32, of Hickory, is an attorney at Sigmon, Clark, Mackie, Hutton, Hanvey & Ferrell P.A. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he served in the U.S. Navy until losing both legs from the knee down from injuries sustained while saving a fellow serviceman. He received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his actions.
After his recovery, he returned to UNC where he earned his law degree and met his wife, Creecy. He worked as a federal prosecutor before taking his current position with the Hickory law firm.
He and Creecy are expecting their first child, a girl, in June.

Patrick McHenry, 32, of Cherryville, was elected as the Congressional representative of North Carolina’s 10th District in 2004.
He graduated from Ashbrook High School in Gastonia and received a bachelor’s degree in history from Belmont Abbey College.
He is a member of the Chambers of Commerce in all 10 counties in the 10th District; the Gastonia Rotary Club; and the National Rifle Association. He is a member of Saint Michael’s Church.
As a current member of Congress, he sits on the House Financial Services Committee, the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. He also serves as the Deputy Republican Whip and Vice Chairman of Finance for the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Executive Committee.
