Lenoir attorney seeks district court seat
Austen Jud may be viewed as the other candidate in an unusual race for a district court judge seat. But the Lenoir attorney has impressive credentials, having practiced in family law for more than a decade and served as president of the Caldwell County Bar Association.
District Court Judge John Mull filed to contest fellow District Court Judge Gary Dellinger. Mull said he wants the seat to have his cycle coincide with the presidential elections.
The three candidates will be trimmed to two in the May 6 primary. The contest is non-partisan.
The following is a news release from Jud announcing his candidacy.
