Candidate forum set for Monday
A candidates forum is planned for Monday at 7 p.m. at the Newton-Conover Civic and Performance Place. Participating candidates include 10th District U.S. Congress, 42nd District N.C. Senate and Catawba County Board of Commissioners.
The event is sponsored by the Catawba County Farm Bureau.

Caldwell GOP holds Lincoln/Reagan Day Dinner
The Caldwell County Republican Party held its annual Lincoln/Reagan Day Dinner Saturday. The event included several guest speakers and a straw poll for upcoming primary elections.

Chelsea Clinton in N.C. today
One of the Clintons seems to be in North Carolina virtually every day.
Chelsea Clinton will visit the Raleigh area today at rallies at North Carolina State University, Peace College in Raleigh and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Bill Clinton to speak at 5:30 p.m. at St. Stephens High
Former President Bill Clinton will speak at 5:30 p.m. Friday at St. Stephens High School. Campaigning for wife, Hillary, Clinton will give his “Solutions for America,” speech. The event, which is free and open to the public, is expected to last about an hour-and-a-half. There are no tickets. Attendence will be first come, first serve.

Chelsea Clinton will attend the Young Democrats of North Carolina 80th Anniversary Convention on Saturday, March 29 at 3:45 p.m.
